Many beginner translators make the mistake of translating word for word. Each language has different syntactic rules so as a translator, you must understand as well as the use of subject and object of different languages before doing the translation.
2. Exaggerating the Meaning of Words
As a result of inexperience, beginner translators tend to overdo translation task. To have an effective translation, it is important to not exaggerate it with technical words or complex sentences. All the translation we do should follow the client’s requirement.
3. Using Wrong Words
Beginner translators often use vocabularies in the wrong context. In fact, there are some certain words which cannot be translated into other languages. Since the words are associated with the cultural and religious process, you cannot interpret them in the context of other religions.
4. Lacking the Communication Skills
Beginner translators could sometimes overlook the importance of effective communication with the clients and therefore end up in poor translation. You need to interact with a client at every level of the translation process. With a strong communication channel, you can avoid any misunderstanding which will result in a better translation.
5. Not Translating In An Appropriate Style
Beginner translators might not fully understand the aspects of styling in a script. Due to unfamiliarity with the target language, they interpret a document without knowing its appropriate style. To convey the real meaning of a topic, it is important to translate a document in the right tone.
